New York City has recently implemented new regulations to reduce vehicle idling, with harsh penalties for those who don’t comply. For routes like this, trucks return to their terminals each night to be recharged and prepped for the route the next day, making electric stepvans perfect for cash-in-transit and last-mile delivery use cases. In addition to reducing tailpipe emissions, these electric vehicles also help reduce noise pollution since they operate much more quietly than traditional gas or diesel vehicles.
